Airing his frustration over the startup’s sale to rival Coursera, Gagan Biyani said in a social media post that 15 years of investor-led decisions led to the sale of the company at its 2021 IPO valuation of under $3 billion. Post Udemy’s Series B fundraise, when founders’ holdings in the company fell to less than 30%, the investors brought in one “dud CEO” after another — seven during the course of the company’s lifetime, he said.
